Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and independently follow through on cybersecurity projects and engagements.
- Review deployments and architecture designs to identify flaws and recommend stronger security controls.
- Design, develop, deploy, and continuously improve security solutions for cloud, virtualized, data center, and network environments.
- Develop and review security automation, orchestration, scripts, tools, playbooks, and runbooks.
- Conduct threat assessments, risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, comparisons, and proof-of-concept evaluations.
- Support data center, network, DMZ, NAC/NAP, lateral isolation, and multi-site data movement security initiatives.
- Monitor, analyze, and correct security issues across supercomputing, cloud, and virtualized systems.
- Configure and optimize firewall and network security controls at internal and perimeter boundaries.
- Provide cybersecurity posture dashboards, metrics, technical documentation, and design guidance.
- Mentor team members and engineering staff while collaborating with Cloud Platform, IT, Product, and other engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Strongly preferred experience includes 8+ years related experience, or 6 years with a master's degree, in data center, virtualization, and/or network security architecture or engineering.
- At least 2 years of experience in vulnerability management and adjusting risk severity for cloud and infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on proficiency with cloud and virtualization technologies, including AWS, HPC, and MAAS.
- Experience with Lustre, Kerberos, and Linux administration.
- Proficiency in Bash, Python, Go, or Java for production services and automation tools.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or comparable tools.
- Experience patching and hardening Linux, macOS, and Windows clients and servers, images, and containers.
- Proficiency with network protocols and firewall management.
- Experience architecting and deploying scalable security services in cloud-native and virtualized environments.
- Experience securing distributed applications and clustered CPU, GPU, and TPU workloads.
- Strong understanding of ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53 cybersecurity standards.
- Experience with Zero Trust Architecture principles and implementations.
- Exposure to data governance, secure data movement, and storage lifecycle management.
- Strong verbal, written, presentation, communication, and technical diagramming skills.
- Jenkins experience is preferred.

- Full-time position based in California with an expected base salary range of $160,000–$240,000 USD; employees may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, and additional benefits.
