Responsibilities
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and operations stakeholders to identify business problems and solve them with machine learning.
- Design, develop, fine-tune, evaluate, validate, and benchmark AI/ML models for classification, regression, clustering, and recommendation systems.
- Use MLOps tools to automate workflows, manage pipelines, monitor models, and support production deployment.
- Deploy AI models with IT and AI teams and establish maintenance processes to preserve model accuracy over time.
- Ensure AI solutions comply with data security, confidentiality, and regulatory requirements.
- Document workflows, results, and lessons learned for organizational knowledge sharing.
- Stay current with ML model evaluation, ML frameworks, and end-to-end ML pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, automobile, production, mechatronics engineering, or a similar discipline.
- 4–8 years of automotive manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience.
- At least 2 years of experience implementing AI/ML solutions in automotive use cases.
- Completion of at least two end-to-end projects involving text or image data, from problem definition through deployment.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Proficiency with scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and XGBoost.
- Understanding of statistics, probability, linear algebra, data preprocessing, feature engineering, ETL, and exploratory data analysis.
- Experience with MLflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and large datasets.
- Knowledge of ML model evaluation, data annotation tools, and MLOps workflows.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of CNNs, RNNs, and Transformers; familiarity with Azure or AWS; and experience with distributed training and scaling ML on large datasets.
- Ability to translate manufacturing domain problems into AI solutions and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
