Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate solutions to difficult cryptologic computer science problems within a scientific framework.
- Support forensics, attack attribution, protection of critical networks, active system warnings and indicators, penetration into target systems, and discovery of passive and active systems.
- Apply operating systems, compiler theory, database theory, algorithm analysis, computer architecture, discrete mathematics, programming language theory, and data structures to mission problems.
- Conduct computer systems research, simulation and model development, prototyping, software design, programming, computational science, algorithm analysis and design, reverse engineering, and computer or information systems development.
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph is required.
- Level 2 requires a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years, a master’s degree plus 3 years, a doctoral degree plus 2 years, or potentially an associate’s degree plus 7 years of relevant experience.
- Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree plus 8 years, a master’s degree plus 6 years, a doctoral degree plus 4 years, or potentially an associate’s degree plus 10 years of relevant experience.
- Level 4 requires a bachelor’s degree plus 11 years, a master’s degree plus 9 years, a doctoral degree plus 7 years, or potentially an associate’s degree plus 13 years of relevant experience.
- The degree must be in Computer Science or a qualifying related field with foundational coursework in algorithms, computer architecture, programming methodologies and languages, data structures, logic and computation, and advanced mathematics.
- Relevant experience must involve computer systems research, simulation or prototyping, software design, programming, computational science, algorithm analysis and design, reverse engineering, or computer and information systems development.
