Responsibilities
- Design and deliver performant, reliable, intuitive production-grade AI agents.
- Own the full Agent Development Life Cycle from pilot through deployment and continuous iteration.
- Build, tune, evolve, and scale AI agents serving retail customers across web, app, phone, and in-store channels.
- Work directly with enterprise and startup customers to understand business challenges and develop solutions.
- Prototype tools and features and collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to improve Sierra’s core platform.
- Build commerce capabilities spanning product discovery, checkout, order tracking, fulfillment, returns, warranties, payments, and order placement.
- Support globally scaled agents handling high-volume traffic across geographic locales.
Requirements
- Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
- Builder and tinkerer mindset with high agency and the ability to ship creative solutions.
- Comfort working directly with customers to understand needs and solve real-world problems.
- Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Interest in retail and helping major brands build customer loyalty.
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM systems in production is preferred.
- Founder or founding-engineer experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering is preferred.
- Prior experience with React, TypeScript, and/or Go is preferred.
- Experience interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders is preferred.
