Responsibilities
- Own the design, implementation, and co-verification of embedded firmware features through pre-silicon and post-silicon validation.
- Contribute to firmware architecture, design discussions, and design and code reviews.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and verification engineers across multiple SoC programs and sites.
- Uphold firmware development best practices and technical excellence within the NBIO firmware team.
- Mentor junior engineers and co-op students.
- Apply AI tools and techniques to improve workflows and accelerate development.
- Support platform bring-up and firmware development in emulation, RTL simulation, and modeling environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electronics engineering, computer engineering, or another applied science.
- Extensive experience with microcontrollers and embedded C or assembly programming.
- Strong understanding of low-level hardware/firmware interfaces and performance optimization.
- Experience with multi-core firmware design, RTOS, board support packages, hardware abstraction layers, and shared code bases.
- Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience with Git and continuous integration tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Hands-on experience with pre-silicon firmware development environments, including emulation, RTL simulation, and modeling platforms.
- Experience with platform bring-up and exposure to AI-driven development tools and workflow optimization.
- Strong technical communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, collaboration, and self-directed working skills.
