Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design and develop in-vehicle applications for GM infotainment systems.
- Own requirements, system design, development, deployment, and maintenance for OnStar Calling and Turn by Turn software.
- Implement infotainment requirements using embedded software development frameworks in the Android environment.
- Participate in architecture, requirements, design, code, and test case reviews.
- Diagnose issues using Android system logs and vehicle signal logs such as CAN-bus logs.
- Collaborate with Agile/Scrum teams and cross-functional domains to manage requirements.
- Produce technical documentation aligned with GM development processes.
- Provide technical guidance, leadership, and mentoring to team members.
Requirements
- 8+ years of programming experience in Kotlin, Java, or C++.
- 3+ years of experience developing applications or middleware for mobile or automotive platforms such as Android.
- Strong foundation in object-oriented design, algorithms, and data structures.
- Experience working with large codebases, creating new code, and maintaining existing software.
- Proficiency in Android UI development, including Jetpack Compose, and design collaboration tools such as Figma.
- Experience with JUnit, Espresso, TDD, MVVM, and Clean Architecture.
- Experience with JIRA, Git, and software development frameworks.
- Experience with Android Automotive OS APIs including CarService, ConnectivityManager, TelephonyManager, and VehicleHAL.
- Preferred experience with AOSP development, Android internals, system services, Binder IPC, permissions, Android Studio, Linux, navigation, GPS/GNSS, location-based services, and embedded systems.
- Preferred knowledge of automotive communications protocols including CAN, LIN, ARXML, and Ethernet, as well as automotive safety and regulations such as ASIL and FMVSS.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field; advanced degrees are preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication, responsibility, delivery discipline, and schedule commitment.
