Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain vehicle control-plane components that retrieve cloud configuration and apply it across ECUs.
- Build data-plane components that collect, process, and transfer vehicle data to cloud storage through streaming and file-based transfer.
- Develop unified logging software, SDK libraries, applications, services, API documentation, and adoption examples.
- Deliver software across Android, Linux, and QNX on General Motors compute modules.
- Optimize data egress, configuration delivery, and resource usage on devices with constrained CPU, memory, storage, and bandwidth.
- Integrate with Azure, AWS S3, and Firestore for configuration delivery, device-state reporting, and data egress.
- Add observability, write unit and integration tests, review code, support releases, troubleshoot production issues, and respond to field issues.
- Collaborate with application, platform, cloud, DevOps, cybersecurity, and privacy teams and contribute to open-source projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of hands-on development experience in C, C++, Java, or Kotlin for Android.
- Experience developing for Linux, Android, and/or QNX and delivering production software to ECUs or similarly resource-constrained devices.
- Understanding of distributed systems, configuration management, data pipelines, network communication, security protocols, and certificate-based device identity.
- Experience with control-plane or device-management software, data collection and transfer pipelines, logging or telemetry software, or SDKs and libraries used by other teams.
- Experience with API design, versioning, SDK or library adoption support, unit and integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity controls and data-protection processes.
- Preferred familiarity with UDS, CAN, SOME/IP, XCP, AUTOSAR, OpenTelemetry, protobuf, gRPC, Fluent Bit, AWS, GCP, Azure, IoT Hub, IoT Core, Pub/Sub, Firestore, and automotive ECU architectures.
