Responsibilities
- Develop and support scalable, multi-tier applications across architecture, backend and frontend development, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Design and build Java/Spring microservices and frontend applications using Angular, React, or JavaScript.
- Develop event-driven systems and integrations using messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Improve platform resiliency, availability, observability, logging, metrics, tracing, and incident response practices.
- Establish coding standards, code reviews, static analysis, test coverage, release discipline, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and agile teams to define scope, prioritize work, and deliver software.
- Contribute to technical strategy, roadmap planning, build-versus-buy decisions, and distributed-system patterns.
- Integrate AI technologies such as LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and agentic frameworks into products and development workflows.
- Mentor teammates and promote continuous improvement, pair programming, and engineering excellence.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 7 years of professional full-stack development experience with strength across backend and frontend systems.
- Expert-level Java 17+ experience and at least 5 years of Spring or Spring Boot experience.
- Experience with Angular 14+ or React/JavaScript, modern UI patterns, state management, and reusable components.
- Hands-on messaging or eventing experience, with Kafka preferred.
- Proficiency with JUnit, Mockito, Gherkin, Cucumber, SonarQube, and related testing and code-quality tools; exposure to Veracode or Section.
- Experience with Test Driven Development and Behavior-Driven Development.
- Strong command of Git and GitLab workflows, Docker, infrastructure-as-code fundamentals, and blue-green or feature-flag release strategies.
- Experience with SLF4J, Log4j, log aggregation, metrics, tracing, and tools such as Splunk.
- Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL stores and data modeling for microservices.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum and collaborative tools including JIRA, Confluence, and Slack.
- Experience using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and pair-programming skills.
