Base Salary
$150k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Improve the developer and agent experience of Modal’s SDK and CLI.
- Develop new primitives for emerging infrastructure use cases.
- Build high-quality applications and libraries that other developers use or interact with.
- Apply strong developer ergonomics and code-as-product principles.
- Work directly with users to understand and solve their problems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing high-quality Python, JavaScript, or Go applications or libraries used by other developers.
- Strong code-as-product judgment with a focus on developer ergonomics and productivity.
- Knowledge of asynchronous programming and concurrency management pitfalls.
- High customer empathy, good communication skills, and openness to working directly with users.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond to production incidents.
- Ability to work in person in the New York or Stockholm office.
- Experience building developer tools or SDKs is a plus.
- Experience maintaining open-source software is a plus.
- Understanding of agentic development workflows is a plus.
- Familiarity with modern data, machine learning, or artificial intelligence tools and workflows is a plus.
