Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end software for security data pipelines from ingestion through canonical data stores and downstream consumers.
- Own architecture for endpoint protection platforms and author System Design Records and Architecture Decision Records.
- Design and build APIs, policy evaluation engines, integration adapter registries, and projection and aggregation services.
- Drive platform reliability through availability monitoring, alerting, infrastructure hardening, and operational improvements.
- Audit and improve Salesforce cloud infrastructure against security standards and protect networks, operating systems, databases, and applications.
- Research threat intelligence, consume threat feeds, track adversaries, identify vulnerabilities, and deploy intrusion-prevention and detection technologies.
- Set engineering standards, conduct reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate with security architects, platform teams, and partner engineering organizations.
- Participate in rotating on-call operations and communicate technical findings to engineering, executive, customer, and industry audiences.
Requirements
- 2+ years of core software development experience with mastery of multiple programming languages and platforms.
- Strong database engineering, API development, data pipeline, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems experience.
- Experience delivering sophisticated software projects across the full lifecycle and across multiple public releases.
- Experience with infrastructure hardening, operational reliability, alerting, availability monitoring, and MTTR reduction.
- Ability to design systems at scale, lead architecture reviews, create design documentation, and develop performance and scalability strategies.
- Experience with engineering processes including PR reviews, design reviews, sprint execution, documentation, Agile/Scrum, and short release cycles.
- Ability to mentor engineers and collaborate with engineering teams, architects, executive leadership, infrastructure, operations, and product teams.
- A related technical degree.
- 2+ years of experience in a computer network-related occupation.
- 2+ years of experience with Unix/Linux administration, Windows environments, hardening guidelines, AWS, GCP, Azure, public and private cloud infrastructure, and secure infrastructure operations.
- Some experience with security engineering, vulnerability analysis, firewalls, encryption, TCP/IP networking, OSI, TCP, SDN, host and network protection, detection technologies, and network, host, and application security.
- Experience writing automation in languages such as Python and Ruby and applying cryptographic standards and core protocols to secure implementations.
- Familiarity with EDR, vulnerability scanning, security tooling ecosystems, and security data pipelines is preferred.

- The stated base salary range is $117,200-$176,700 annually; select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan locations have a $141,200-$194,200 annual range.
