Responsibilities
- Administer, deploy, maintain, patch, secure, and troubleshoot ARC’s Traverse AWS infrastructure across multiple environments and services.
- Automate infrastructure management and configuration using CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, and related tools.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, software engineers, deployment automation, and infrastructure-dependent enterprise tools.
- Manage observability, backups, replication, availability, capacity planning, system triage, and cost or performance optimization.
- Respond to complex escalated events, production incidents, on-call emergencies, and troubleshooting activities.
- Create maintenance plans, implementation approaches, documentation, and full lifecycle-management practices for infrastructure platforms.
- Provide subject-matter expertise, thought leadership, coaching, and knowledge sharing to engineering, support, and stakeholder teams.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience in systems and infrastructure administration roles involving AWS, Linux, and Python.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field preferred; equivalent work experience is considered.
- Experience deploying, managing, and administering AWS infrastructure, enterprise storage and virtualization platforms, backup systems, replication solutions, and observability platforms.
- Experience administering, automating, and orchestrating large-scale Linux environments with configuration-management solutions such as Ansible, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Proficiency with Bash, Python, or AWS CLI scripting.
- Understanding of security best practices and access controls for systems and platform deployment and administration.
- Functional knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting, including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, routing, and firewalls.
- Cloud administration and containerization experience with AWS, Docker, or Fargate is a plus.
- Ability to define non-functional requirements and translate them into technical requirements and solution definitions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to nontechnical audiences.
- Ability to follow processes during high-pressure incident response, on-call escalation, and production events.
