Responsibilities
- Build and operate production Kubernetes clusters with service mesh, autoscaling, ingress, and reliable deployment foundations.
- Design geo-replicated deployment architecture across cloud regions and providers.
- Build edge networking and security infrastructure for abuse protection, rate limiting, and traffic routing.
- Develop cost-attribution systems, identify infrastructure waste, and optimize cloud spend while balancing cost and reliability.
- Define and unify an opinionated container orchestration strategy for consistent deployments across teams.
- Make reliable infrastructure easier for other engineering teams to self-serve.
Requirements
- Deep experience with AWS or comparable cloud providers, particularly VPC networking, EKS/Kubernetes, and IAM/account management.
- Experience building and operating production Kubernetes clusters at scale, including service mesh, autoscaling, and multi-region deployments.
- Understanding of edge networking, CDN/WAF architectures, and infrastructure-level traffic management.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code, reproducibility, and self-service infrastructure practices.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and interest in building platforms for other engineering teams.
- Experience with large-scale cost optimization or infrastructure migration/unification is preferred.
