Responsibilities
- Own the design and delivery of complex embedded software capabilities using Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, and React.
- Define and evolve microservice, REST API, and application architecture.
- Lead debugging and resolution of complex software and system issues on Linux-based embedded devices.
- Plan complex technical work, identify dependencies and risks, and communicate trade-offs.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines and engineering workflows for dependable delivery.
- Set testing approaches and ensure unit, integration, and system-level coverage.
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, design support, pairing, and code reviews.
- Drive coding standards, documentation, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with QA, DevOps, product, hardware, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Substantial commercial experience delivering production software with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience owning complex features or services from technical design through implementation, testing, release, and operational support.
- Experience making and communicating architectural decisions for maintainable and reliable software systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in Linux environments, including cross-service and system-level issues.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and communication or transport protocols including Ethernet, serial, and TLS/SSL.
- Ability to improve engineering standards through code reviews, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to plan complex work, manage technical risks and dependencies, and collaborate across disciplines.
- Fluent written and verbal English.
- Preferred: Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Linux system configuration, IoT projects, hardware-software integration, Jira, Confluence, and Rust experience.
