Base Salary

$163k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and own the studio’s functional test automation framework, coverage instrumentation, regression analysis tooling, and test-suite reliability and speed improvements.
  • Design load, stress, chaos, and disaster recovery testing systems, including realistic synthetic traffic, fault injection, RTO/RPO measurement, and regression tests.
  • Automate app-quality testing across real devices and own device-lab orchestration and certification matrices.
  • Build and operate on-premise distributed build and GPU clusters, including scheduling, caching, artifacts, utilization, and capacity planning.
  • Design cross-platform developer tools, including AI-assisted agents, skills, and MCP servers, for Cloud, Backend, and Client Engineering.
  • Define and publish developer-velocity and quality metrics such as build time, test cycle time, flake rate, escaped defect rate, and MTTR.
  • Drive adoption across teams, mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, document systems, and set studio-wide technical direction.

Requirements

  • Required programming and scripting skills include Python, Golang, C/C++, Jenkins Groovy, and Linux shell scripting.
  • Experience designing test frameworks and building load/stress tooling, fault-injection and chaos systems, coverage instrumentation, and flake detection.
  • Experience with CPU/GPU/memory/I/O profiling, statistical analysis of noisy benchmarks, regression detection, commit attribution, and observability.
  • Experience with Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD, Make or CMake, GCC or Clang, distributed build systems and caching, Git/GitLab, and Perforce.
  • Experience administering Linux and macOS, operating bare-metal or on-premise clusters, using Docker or Podman, Kubernetes, Terraform or OpenTofu, and performing hardware capacity planning.
  • Knowledge of distributed-systems failure modes, TCP/IP and UDP, resilience patterns, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Passion for gaming, staff-level technical direction, influence without authority, clear communication across distributed teams, and a focus on preventing problems.
  • Preferred qualifications include mobile device-farm operation; Android/iOS build and profiling toolchains; GPU cluster scheduling with Slurm, Kubernetes device plugins, or MIG; game-engine internals and engine-level test automation; deterministic simulation/replay testing; live-service game or equivalent SaaS/PaaS/XaaS experience; Windows administration; Ansible; TypeScript, Java, Kotlin, or Swift; and hybrid/multi-cloud management.
