Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate production AI agents using governed model selection, evaluation, safety, versioning, and testing practices.
- Implement agentic cloud-infrastructure patterns and mentor less experienced engineers on agentic systems, LLM integration, and prompt engineering.
- Operate and improve high-availability distributed systems on AWS, including performance, scalability, stability, observability, and automated remediation.
- Evolve the Cortex developer control plane into an AI-augmented self-service platform for service scaffolding, deployment debugging, issue resolution, and security-policy enforcement.
- Document agentic architecture and operational procedures, participate in on-call rotations, and use post-mortems to improve reliability and automation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure supporting large-scale, high-availability, customer-facing distributed systems.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading well-scoped platform initiatives.
- Hands-on experience building and operating production AI-driven systems and agentic workflows that perform operational tasks.
- Experience reducing operational toil through agentic AI in at least one meaningful workflow.
- Strong AWS, Kubernetes, containerized architecture, serverless architecture, infrastructure-as-code, Datadog, observability, Python and/or Go experience.
- Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or custom agentic architectures, plus production prompt engineering.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, compliance, AI governance, model safety, prompt-injection prevention, and data isolation.
- Preferred experience with Linkerd, Istio, Argo CD, Flux CD, GitHub Actions, Argo Workflows, MLOps, LLMOps, AI alerting, root-cause analysis, and AI security frameworks.
Benefits
- Base salary is $228,000-$279,000 plus equity and benefits.
- Hybrid position based in Mountain View requiring in-office work two days per week.
- The employer supports H-1B and O-1 employer transfers but does not provide new visa sponsorship or consider candidates working under OPT or CPT.
