Base Salary
$149k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own complex features from technical design and implementation through launch and ongoing improvement.
- Build cohesive experiences across frontend interfaces, backend services, and AI integrations.
- Apply generative AI, retrieval, agents, and evaluation to improve Confluence AI quality and reliability.
- Develop automated evaluations and representative test datasets to prevent regressions.
- Prototype emerging technologies, run experiments, and use monitoring and user feedback to improve AI experiences.
- Instrument features to measure quality, activation, repeat usage, retention, and customer value.
- Partner with product, design, analytics, machine learning, platform, and adjacent engineering teams.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and technical guidance.
- Build reusable components and improve testing, AI evaluation, observability, and software delivery practices.
- Break down ambiguous problems and balance customer impact, technical complexity, risk, and cost.
Requirements
- Senior-level software engineering capability across frontend, backend, and AI integration boundaries.
- Ability to own complex technical features through design, implementation, launch, and continuous improvement.
- Experience applying generative AI, retrieval, agents, evaluation, experimentation, monitoring, and user feedback to product experiences.
- Ability to make architecture decisions and deliver scalable, reliable software meeting performance, security, accessibility, and cost requirements.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, machine learning teams, and platform teams.
- Ability to communicate technical decisions, tradeoffs, and experiment results clearly.
- Ability to mentor engineers and contribute to team-wide technical practices.
