Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and implement integrations between Epic and third-party applications.
- Develop and maintain HL7, FHIR, X12, API, flat-file, and web-service interfaces.
- Use Corepoint Integration Engine and Epic Bridges to configure and implement integration solutions.
- Review vendor specifications and develop custom HL7 derivatives and translations.
- Document data flows, specifications, customizations, logic, vendor contacts, and operational sign-off.
- Diagnose and resolve interface-related issues and provide advanced troubleshooting across integration methods.
- Collaborate with vendors, IT staff, clinical staff, operations, and the Project Management Office to test and implement interfaces.
- Support EDI projects, manage current projects with the PMO and vendors, and obtain departmental change approvals.
- Mentor EDI Developer I staff and work with EDI Developer III to implement departmental standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 3–5 years of relevant IT or clinical experience required.
- Epic Bridges certification required upon hire.
- Corepoint Integration Engine certification required within three months of class completion.
- Experience with Corepoint or another integration engine and Epic Bridges experience.
- Knowledge of HL7, X12, FHIR, API data structures, and electronic health record data structures.
- IT integration experience using variable-based logic and coding, along with IT troubleshooting skills.
- Project management experience and strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
