Base Salary

$210k - $265k/yr

Responsibilities

Partner with the VP of Engineering, C-suite, Product leadership, and business stakeholders to turn company goals into technical strategies.
Define and drive the company-wide AI development roadmap and establish AI-native engineering practices, tools, and processes.
Own the overarching architectural vision and guide the long-term evolution of platform services.
Balance rapid iteration with security, privacy, reliability, and uptime requirements for schools.
Elevate engineering quality through architectural reviews, mentorship of Staff and Senior engineers, and technical leadership.
Represent the company’s technical perspective in discussions with clients, partners, and cross-functional executives.

Proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining complex, high-scale services using Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PHP.
Deep expertise in distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL.
Experience with cloud infrastructure including AWS Aurora, RDS, and SQS.
Thought leadership in AI-assisted software engineering and experience shaping how teams use AI to improve development efficiency.
Exceptional ability to communicate technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders, executives, and customers.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
Demonstrated history of technical leadership at scale.
