Staff Engineer

- Provide technical leadership and architectural guidance for software solutions.
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure software across cloud platforms and scientific instrumentation.
- Drive adoption of software development best practices and shape the technical direction of critical projects.
- Support, guide, and help develop other engineers.
- Translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and provide clear written and verbal communication.
- Work independently while guiding teams effectively.
Requirements
- An advanced degree plus 6 years of experience, or a bachelor's degree plus 8 years of professional software development experience with proven technical leadership.
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in one or more of Java, C#, C++, or Python.
- Strong experience with AWS or Azure and microservices architecture.
- Deep understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and best practices.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, software testing principles, quality assurance practices, version control systems, and modern development tools.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD practices, DevOps principles, database technologies, and data structures.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and cross-functional teamwork.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.
