Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Develop cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers and product leaders.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, and long-term technology direction.
- Mentor engineers, drive professional development, and lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
- Establish coding standards, design patterns, observability practices, reliability practices, and enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Use observability to identify and optimize performance bottlenecks in distributed systems.
- Lead architectural design reviews and influence technology strategy at the portfolio or business-unit level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, 9+ years coding with multiple listed programming languages, and experience with open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, synchronous and asynchronous APIs, databases, cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, mentoring, observability, architecture reviews, coding standards, reliability practices, AI-based coding tools, and enterprise technology strategy.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts or large-scale technical initiatives is preferred.
