Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance C++ systems for real-time power-grid applications.
- Implement multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous I/O, and predictable low-latency behavior.
- Optimize threading, lock contention, memory allocation, scalability, and runtime performance.
- Develop C++ cores that interface with .NET and Rust runtime services.
- Participate in architecture reviews, technical design documentation, feature roadmaps, refactoring, and legacy modernization.
- Maintain code quality through code reviews, unit testing, and software engineering best practices.
- Modernize build systems and support consistent deployment across Windows and Linux environments.
- Help define dependency management, build tooling, and secure software supply chain practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, business, and power-grid industry stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Develop and maintain software for power-grid management, monitoring, industrial automation, and critical infrastructure.
- Contribute to new features, system integration, simulators, lab environments, and ongoing technical improvements.
Requirements
- University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in senior technical roles.
- Advanced proficiency in modern C++, including RAII, smart pointers, STL, concurrency, and memory management.
- Strong experience with multithreading, synchronization primitives, asynchronous I/O, real-time systems, performance profiling, optimization, and low-latency systems.
- Knowledge of C# development, software architecture, secure scalable design, unit testing, integration testing, and testing frameworks.
- Experience with CMake, Visual Studio, Windows, Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture patterns.
- Experience with power-grid management and monitoring, including WAMS/WAMPAC, PMU data, protection and control applications, and applicable standards.
- Experience with industrial automation systems such as SCADA, IED, and RTU is a plus.
- Experience with IEC 61850, IEC-60870-5-104, DNP3, OPC UA, and IEEE C37.118 is a plus.
- Experience working with power-grid clients and system integration, simulators, or laboratory environments.
- Knowledge of numerical methods, signal processing, control fundamentals, high-frequency time-aligned time-series data, power-system dynamics, and renewable-energy stability challenges.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and English-language skills.
