Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain scalable APIs and Kubernetes environments for deploying and operating AI and machine learning models.
- Design and build backend services for AI workloads, including REST/gRPC APIs, job orchestration, asynchronous task processing, lifecycle management, and service-to-service communication.
- Integrate scalable APIs with machine learning models and support scaling and distributed computing requirements.
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineer teams to transition AI solutions from proof of concept to production readiness.
- Implement testing and monitoring to ensure the stability and security of AI deployments.
Requirements
- Requires 4–8 years of experience maintaining production-grade APIs.
- Requires production software engineering experience with strong system design and architecture skills.
- Requires expertise in programming languages such as Python and JavaScript and the ability to review code and mentor others on programming best practices.
- Requires understanding of scaling strategies and distributed computing principles.
- Requires experience creating and interacting with RESTful HTTPS APIs, websockets, and webhooks.
- Requires experience with at least one cloud computing platform; Microsoft Azure experience is a plus.
- Requires experience with serverless functions.
- Preferred qualifications include exposure to Power Platform, Azure AI Studio, and other Microsoft technologies for AI solution deployment.
- Preferred qualifications include Certified Kubernetes Application Developer certification or similar credentials and demonstrated commitment to DevOps best practices and continuous improvement.
- Candidates should have substantive interest and experience in AI and machine learning beyond casual use of blogs or chatbots.
