Responsibilities
- Develop technical plans and contribute to technical architecture as Intercom scales.
- Write Ruby code integrating AWS, infrastructure, platform, and SaaS technologies.
- Ship production changes from the first day and deliver features rapidly.
- Mentor other engineers and interview candidates.
- Work within a multidisciplinary product team alongside designers, product managers, researchers, and data analysts.
- Build backend and frontend systems addressing customer and platform needs.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of industry experience in a software engineering role, preferably building a SaaS product.
- Demonstrated significant impact on a product or team.
- Deep knowledge of a high-level programming language such as Ruby, Python, or JavaScript.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar languages quickly or introduce improved ways of working.
- Experience collaborating directly with product teams and designers.
- Proven track record of delivering value to customers or users.
- Experience with distributed systems.
