Responsibilities
- Build secure Docker images for Java-based and PHP-based applications.
- Build Docker images for applications running on Linux and Windows, developer tools, and databases such as MySQL, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
- Deploy containerized applications with Helm to Kubernetes platforms hosted on premises or in government clouds.
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.
- Create build and deployment pipelines using Kubernetes-native tools on OpenShift and other Kubernetes platforms.
- Debug production applications using operating-system logs, enterprise logging systems, SQL database queries, and application testing.
- Provide high-level and low-level technical documentation and presentations.
- Collaborate with customers and technical teams through clear communication and listening.
- Support custom-built Java and PHP applications in production and automate virtual-machine deployments with Ansible.
Requirements
- BA/BS with 13+ years of directly related IT experience, or MA/MS with 10+ years of directly related IT experience.
- At least five years of relevant containerization experience with major federal IT applications.
- Expert-level experience building secure Docker images for Java- or PHP-based applications.
- Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, and container deployment pipelines using Tekton or GitLab CI/CD.
- Solid experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
- Experience troubleshooting production applications using Linux logs, enterprise logging, SQL, and application testing.
- Strong documentation, presentation, collaboration, listening, and communication skills.
- Preferred experience with HP Fortify, BlackDuck, JFrog X-Ray, Artifactory, JMeter, Ansible, federal government IT security standards, and production Java or PHP application support.
- US citizenship is not required; no clearance is required, and no travel is required.
