Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for investment applications, services, APIs, integrations, data platforms, and front-, middle-, and back-office workflows.
- Define and enforce reference architecture, investment data models, IBOR/ABOR/PBOR flows, API and integration standards, and application technology standards.
- Guide implementation from user interfaces through data pipelines, including design reviews, pull requests, testing, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Architect integrations and automation around investment management, accounting, private markets, market data, and custody vendor platforms.
- Design AWS cloud services and Snowflake data platforms with serverless, containerized, event-driven, workflow, streaming, and batch capabilities.
- Build audit-ready architectures with data lineage, logging, traceability, and SOX ITGC and SOC 1/2 evidence.
- Create architectural runway through technical epics, planning, technical-debt sequencing, and target-state alignment across delivery teams.
- Mentor senior engineers and collaborate with enterprise architecture, information security, data governance, investment operations, and investment accounting leadership.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years architecting and delivering buy-side investment platforms for an asset manager, insurer general account, pension, or investment-platform vendor.
- Demonstrated depth across at least two stack tiers and working fluency across application and services engineering, data platform engineering, and cloud infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of investment data and processes, including trade lifecycle, IBOR versus ABOR, fixed income, derivatives, private and structured assets, corporate actions, and reconciliation.
- Strong software engineering experience with Python, JavaScript, SQL, Terraform, Bash, modern web applications, TypeScript or React-class front ends, and REST, GraphQL, or event-driven APIs.
- Hands-on AWS experience with compute, serverless, containers, eventing, and IAM, plus Snowflake-class cloud data platforms and large-scale streaming ingestion and orchestration.
- Experience applying generative AI and agentic tooling to engineering delivery or building AI-assisted workflow applications.
- Experience integrating investment platforms such as Aladdin, Bloomberg, SimCorp, Eagle, Clearwater, or PAM-class accounting systems.
- Experience delivering under SOX, SOC 1/2, model governance, or equivalent controls regimes.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business audiences from individual contributors through executives.
- Preferred experience includes insurance or reinsurance general-account investment accounting, statutory reporting, Asset-Liability Management, actuarial interfaces, private credit or private markets, and Agile product-oriented technology organizations.
