Responsibilities
- Own the strategy, architecture, engineering, and operation of enterprise data virtualization and related platforms.
- Lead modernization and migration to a next-generation data virtualization platform.
- Manage deployments, incidents, change records, configuration updates, patches, production stability, and strategic roadmap delivery.
- Build platform security, resilience, automation, observability, and self-service capabilities.
- Onboard and enable application teams and expand governed access to enterprise data.
- Manage vendor relationships and product roadmaps.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Security, Risk, and business stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers and establish engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including product ownership or technical leadership for enterprise data platforms.
- Hands-on experience with data virtualization or data federation platforms such as Denodo or TIBCO Data Virtualization.
- Strong fundamentals in Linux, networking, high availability, authentication and authorization, and APIs.
- Proficiency in Python and Unix shell scripting, including automation and self-service tooling development.
- Experience with Agile/DevOps practices and tooling including Git, CI/CD, and Jira.
- Experience managing vendors and product roadmaps.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with AI/ML and analytics platforms such as Dataiku and/or test data management platforms such as Delphix is desired.
- Working knowledge of Snowflake, Databricks, or relational databases is desired.
- Experience leading a platform migration or modernization program is desired.
- Familiarity with observability tools, Infrastructure-as-Code, containerization, or public cloud is desired.
