Simulation Infrastructure Engineer

Responsibilities
- Integrate simulators into the Cloud platform, including deployment, packaging, component integration, instrumentation, and efficient large-scale execution.
- Make simulation workflows reliable and easy to run through CI, including maintaining fast and dependable nightly release-gating simulations.
- Translate simulation engineers’ needs into platform work and provide reusable primitives across the Cloud platform.
- Evaluate future simulation directions and build the infrastructure required for selected approaches.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated ownership of production systems.
- Strong Python skills and familiarity with API design, asynchronous patterns, and cloud-native development.
- Cloud infrastructure experience, including AWS, distributed systems, orchestration, state management, retries, and spot or preemptible compute.
- Experience with deployment and service integration, including gRPC, container orchestration, and instrumentation.
- Comfort working across backend services, data pipelines, CI systems, and internal UIs.
- Strong written communication and a preference for small, well-instrumented systems over heavy frameworks.
- Preferred: experience with Ray or comparable distributed compute frameworks such as Spark or Kubernetes-native job systems.
- Preferred: experience operating large-scale data systems measured by petabytes, floating-point operations, or virtual CPUs.
- Preferred: experience designing and launching platform capabilities from scratch in an early-stage startup.
