Responsibilities
- Own backend workstreams by clarifying semi-defined problems, creating plans and estimates, and driving implementation, testing, and release.
- Develop AEM authoring interfaces, components, Java services, Sling Models, servlets, schedulers, workflows, event handlers, and APIs.
- Implement content structures, Universal Editor models, templates, permissions, blocks, components, and maintainable author workflows.
- Build and support integrations with APIs and enterprise systems using REST, GraphQL, and Adobe App Builder Apps.
- Create unit and integration tests, contribute to automated coverage, investigate failures, and diagnose defects and performance issues using logs, metrics, traces, repository inspection, and local reproduction.
- Participate in refinement, code review, UAT support, release preparation, launch, hypercare, documentation, and client communication.
- Support cloud delivery through Cloud Manager, CI/CD pipelines, Dispatcher configuration, environment variables, secrets, and deployment diagnostics.
- Develop practical fluency in AEM as a Cloud Service, AEM Sites and Assets, Edge Delivery Services, and relevant Adobe tools.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of backend or full-stack software development experience, or equivalent practical experience building and supporting production systems.
- Professional Java and object-oriented software development experience.
- Hands-on production AEM backend experience, including Edge Delivery Services configuration, Universal Editor work, and Adobe App Builder development or integration.
- Experience delivering end-to-end AEM CMS websites and participating in CMS migration or re-platforming projects.
- Working knowledge of Sling, OSGi, JCR/Oak, Sling Models, servlets, HTL integration points, workflows, and Maven.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, input validation, and external-service integrations.
- Familiarity with Git, pull requests, automated builds, and testing practices.
- Ability to independently research ambiguous problems, read logs, and debug across application, repository, Dispatcher, and integration layers.
- Proven experience with AEM Assets/DAM, asset-search facets, Creative Cloud for Enterprise, Adobe Express, and creative workflows.
- Proven experience with Workfront Fusion for integration and transaction orchestration, plus understanding of the Adobe content supply chain and marketing ecosystem.
- Preferred qualifications include AEM Cloud Manager, Dispatcher, headless delivery, Adobe Commerce, App Builder, API Mesh, analytics or marketing-platform integrations, GraphQL, event-driven integrations, Docker, CI/CD, observability tools, Adobe certification, computer science background, relevant portfolio work, GenAI development tools, and core LLM concepts.
