Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate platform services, APIs, CLIs, controllers, automation, and reusable infrastructure primitives.
- Create self-service systems and paved paths for environment provisioning, service deployment, infrastructure management, policy enforcement, and operational response.
- Design and operate cloud, compute, storage, identity, networking, VPC, routing, and security infrastructure across public clouds and regions.
- Improve containers, orchestration, infrastructure provisioning, software delivery, progressive rollouts, rollback, observability, alerting, capacity planning, and failure recovery.
- Define and use service-level indicators, SLOs, error budgets, and production-readiness standards.
- Participate in on-call and incident response, conduct blameless postmortems, and convert recurring operational work into permanent improvements.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and infrastructure teams while providing technical direction, mentorship, and architectural guidance.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, SRE, or equivalent experience with meaningful production-system ownership.
- Strong software engineering ability in at least one language such as Go, Python, Java, or Rust, with experience building maintainable services, automation, CLIs, APIs, or developer tools.
- Production experience operating distributed systems and infrastructure, including failure diagnosis, capacity management, performance improvement, high availability, and recovery design.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure and infrastructure as code such as Terraform or an equivalent system.
- Experience with containers and orchestration such as Kubernetes, EKS, GKE, Docker, or Nomad.
- Experience managing cloud network security controls, including firewalls, DNS filtering, and network segmentation.
- Experience designing or improving CI/CD and automated software delivery systems.
- Practical observability experience with metrics, logs, traces, alerting, dashboards, and production health models; OpenTelemetry familiarity is valuable.
- Working knowledge of SLOs, error budgets, incident response, blameless postmortems, and operational toil reduction.
- Experience building secure-by-default systems and collaborating on identity, access control, secrets, supply-chain security, and policy enforcement.
- Configuration management experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is useful but not sufficient alone.
- Ability to learn unfamiliar technologies and domains, including data-intensive, event-driven, or AI/ML workloads.
- Strong technical communication, leadership, mentoring, and cross-team influence skills.

- Base salary range of $140,000–$200,000 in New York, excluding discretionary bonus and equity.
