Base Salary
$37.74 - $40.64/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support software for metrology systems and inspection automation.
- Create full-stack applications, scripting and automation tools, and data pipelines for measurement capture, parsing, reporting, and yield visibility.
- Integrate software with custom instrumentation, cameras, microcontrollers, CNC equipment, and legacy systems.
- Modernize manual and undocumented engineering workflows into robust, user-friendly environments.
- Collaborate with metrology, manufacturing, and hardware engineers on systems that may involve hardware still under design.
- Apply structured testing, documentation, code quality, and maintainability practices through deployment and sustainment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, version control, and debugging.
- Proficiency in multiple high-level programming languages such as Python, C#, and JavaScript.
- Proficiency in at least one low-level capable language such as Rust or C++.
- Experience developing maintainable, production-quality code through coursework, internships, co-ops, or project work.
- Basic understanding of software interaction with hardware or external systems, including instrumentation APIs, IPC, device I/O, or sensor data.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to produce technical documentation.
- Preferred qualifications include pursuing a master’s degree, experience with manufacturing, metrology, instrumentation, robotics, industrial automation, full-stack or application development, NI LabVIEW or Keysight VEE, data acquisition, measurement equipment, scientific or engineering data workflows, image processing, computer vision, legacy code refactoring, and hardware interfaces.
