Responsibilities
- Design, develop, optimize, and support technical animation and VFX production pipeline procedures and tools.
- Support workflows for character rigging, character animation, simulation, props, layout, cameras, plates, geometry conversions, shot asset management, and approval processes.
- Manage complex scene dependencies across multiple departments and support automated publishing, data validation, and efficient scene organization.
- Support Unreal visualization workflows, scene management, sequencer operations, and data exchange between Maya and Unreal.
- Track work in progress, dailies, briefings, notes, and feedback while meeting project schedules and delivery deadlines.
- Collaborate with production, supervisors, and team members to solve pipeline problems and share project information.
- Work effectively independently and as part of a team to determine pipeline solutions.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Maya and Python programming.
- Experience creating user interfaces with PyQt or PySide.
- Knowledge of Linux and Git version control.
- Experience working on CG and VFX productions.
- Familiarity with color management, including OpenColorIO and ImageColorIO.
- A two-year diploma or one-year certificate in a relevant field, or a minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
- Knowledge of C++.
- Familiarity with Katana, Unreal, Houdini, and/or USD is advantageous.
- Unreal knowledge covering scene management, sequencer operations, DCC data exchange, visualization workflows, USD integrations, and Blueprint scripting is advantageous.
- Ability to provide a demo reel showing relevant artistic and technical experience.
- Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
