Responsibilities

  • Implement and optimize real-time graphics and rendering features in the CoreAnimation pipeline.
  • Develop and optimize Metal command generation and low-level compositing architectures.
  • Deliver UI materials, system animations, and platform experiences across Apple's product ecosystem.
  • Reduce rendering latency across CPU and GPU pipelines and improve battery efficiency.
  • Debug and eliminate visual corruption across diverse hardware configurations.
  • Collaborate with UI Frameworks, System Experience, Human Interface Design, and GPU/Hardware teams.
  • Profile and optimize graphics performance across CPU/GPU boundaries.
  • Incorporate AI-assisted workflows and agentic coding tools into software engineering practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of software development experience and 2 years of real-time rendering and computer graphics experience.
  • Production experience delivering graphics or rendering features.
  • Strong C/C++ programming skills and expertise with GPU-accelerated rendering pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with Metal, Vulkan, or DirectX and low-level rendering optimization.
  • Foundational knowledge of operating systems, computer architecture, CPU/GPU programming, and memory subsystems.
  • Strong debugging, triage, graphics profiling, and CPU/GPU optimization skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include TBDR GPU knowledge, advanced graphics programming, low-level Metal/Vulkan/D3D12 command generation, multithreaded rendering, CPU/GPU synchronization, client/server or multiprocess graphics, consumer graphics products, automated graphics testing, CoreAnimation, compositing, scene graphs, color management, HDR, wide color gamut, shader programming, and Apple platform development in Swift or Objective-C.
