Base Salary
$254k - $299k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the technical strategy and architecture for data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, streaming, and serving systems.
- Drive the development of engineering-owned, platform-grade data infrastructure and infrastructure-layer cost reduction.
- Architect data systems for ML training, feature stores, real-time inference, and multi-agent AI workloads.
- Lead the evolution toward near-real-time data availability for fraud detection, financial reporting, and analytics.
- Build alignment with senior leadership and cross-functional partners on technical priorities and tradeoffs.
- Represent Data Platform in OKR planning, architecture reviews, and long-term infrastructure strategy forums while elevating senior engineers.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed data infrastructure, including streaming platforms, data lakes, batch and real-time processing engines, and query or serving layers.
- Experience owning end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for an entire data domain across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated success transitioning organizations from managed-service dependencies to platform-grade, engineering-built infrastructure.
- Deep systems thinking across performance, reliability, cost, security, and privacy throughout the data lifecycle.
- Experience designing data systems for ML training pipelines, feature stores, real-time inference, or AI agent workloads at scale.
- Familiarity with CDC, Kafka, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- A platform mindset and product-manager orientation focused on reducing friction for developer customers and creating compounding leverage.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and measurable workflow improvements.
