
Cybersecurity Engineer - Security Operations Center (SOC)

Responsibilities
- Investigate security alerts, analyze activity chains, and hunt for and respond to cyber threats.
- Build tools and automation to improve detection, response, and cybersecurity workflows.
- Work with a wide variety of log sources, systems, and in-house or open-source tooling.
- Apply security practices and communicate risk, trade-offs, and best practices to colleagues across the firm.
- Collaborate with full-time employees on real-world cybersecurity projects with mentorship.
Requirements
- Currently majoring or planning to major in computer science or a similar field.
- Demonstrated interest in cybersecurity and technology through activities such as CTFs, home labs, or personal development projects.
- Strong programming ability, high potential, and aptitude for learning.
- Familiarity with threat modeling and the ability to explain security, risk, and usability trade-offs.
- Ability to adapt to changing scenarios, make challenging decisions under pressure, and communicate clearly in English.
- Curiosity, perseverance, collaborative attitude, and willingness to investigate problems beyond a surface-level understanding.
