Responsibilities
- Lead software architecture development for an embedded automotive HMI instrument-cluster ECU.
- Design, develop, integrate, debug, validate, release, and maintain HMI software for embedded platforms using Qt and C++.
- Implement customer-facing instrument-cluster features and visualizations.
- Translate system, component, and UX/UI requirements into robust software solutions.
- Collaborate with global UX/UI designers, developers, architects, and systems engineers across Germany, India, and the United States.
- Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Support integration, debugging, and root-cause analysis across vehicles, test benches, and simulation environments.
- Define and drive adoption of software development and quality standards, coding guidelines, design principles, documentation expectations, and code-review criteria.
- Assess architecture, design, and implementation compliance; document deviations and coordinate corrective actions.
- Track software quality metrics and communicate risks, trends, and improvement priorities.
- Define acceptance criteria for source-code quality, maintainability, test coverage, and release readiness.
- Support functional safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
- Coach and mentor team members and colleagues on software development practices and execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant software development experience.
- At least 3 years of experience developing complex graphical user interfaces using Qt, OpenGL, React, Svelte, or comparable frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in modern C++, object-oriented design, and maintainable software architecture.
- Experience developing embedded software for automotive, industrial, or safety-critical products.
- Experience with Git, automated builds, static analysis, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience conducting code reviews and defining or applying software development standards.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, problem-solving, and cross-global-team communication skills.
- A master’s degree and 7 or more years of relevant software development experience are preferred.
- Preferred experience includes automotive instrument clusters, infotainment, HUDs, embedded automotive platforms, AUTOSAR, CAN, LIN, automotive Ethernet, diagnostics, vehicle communication interfaces, ISO 26262, Automotive SPICE, software processes, engineering governance, UML modeling, system decomposition, software-defined vehicle architectures, HMI design, Vector tools, DiagnosticLink, Jira, Confluence, DOORS, XDIS, and MATLAB.
- Experience leading technical communities or mentoring engineers is preferred.

- Starting base salary is $117,000–$150,000 USD, dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
