Base Salary
$209k - $286k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Design and implement large-scale, distributed, cloud-native systems with demanding reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture and long-term technology direction.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and product leaders to deliver cloud-based solutions and define platform roadmaps and shared-services strategy.
- Mentor engineering community members and senior engineers while driving professional development.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and use observability to optimize distributed-system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience, excluding internship experience.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred experience includes 9 or more years coding in multiple listed languages, 5 or more years with open-source frameworks and front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, and 5 or more years creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
- Preferred experience includes database systems, AWS, GCP, Azure, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, Git-based version control, and troubleshooting cloud environments.
- Preferred experience includes mentoring senior engineers, leading architectural reviews, establishing coding standards, implementing observability and reliability practices, and influencing technology strategy.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI productivity tooling, and large-scale cross-functional engineering initiatives.
