Base Salary
$293k - $385k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and scale developer-facing products including the OpenAI API Playground and documentation experiences.
- Own full stack projects from product definition through backend implementation and iteration.
- Improve systems for generating and maintaining SDKs, API references, and developer examples.
- Collaborate with API, research, design, and infrastructure teams to deliver new model capabilities.
- Utilize developer feedback and product analytics to enhance the API experience.
- Help set technical and product direction for a new NYC-based team.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience in product-driven teams.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, React, and modern web application development.
- Proficiency in backend languages such as Python, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
- Experience designing and operating production APIs and developer tooling.
- Strong product judgment with a track record of simplifying developer problems.
- Experience with documentation systems, SDKs, and API design is a plus.
- Ability to work across product, design, engineering, and research teams.
- Care for reliability, performance, accessibility, and maintainability in production systems.
- Interest in AI and developer platforms; direct ML experience is helpful.
