Base Salary
$200k - $330k/yr
Responsibilities
- Apply statistical and machine learning techniques to large datasets to identify fraud, platform abuse, and identity theft patterns.
- Prototype and productionize machine learning models and rules-based systems for fraud protection.
- Design data architectures and leverage first- and third-party data with Fraud Engineering and Data Platform teams.
- Contribute to backend systems and help shape machine learning processes, tools, and scalable technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Mathematics, Economics, Physics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
- At least 5 years of industry experience as a Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Scientist, or Data Scientist.
- Strong Python experience with NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, and related machine learning techniques.
- Experience deploying machine learning models to production and contributing meaningfully to backend systems.
- Strong SQL knowledge, including experience with databases such as Snowflake and PostgreSQL.
- Fluency with agentic AI tools for software development and data analysis.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD, fraud or identity-threat detection experience, high-growth startup experience, modern data-stack experience, perspective on data science and ML engineering workflows, and experience developing LLM-backed systems or tools.
