Responsibilities
- Define non-functional requirements, availability targets, service level indicators, and service level objectives with stakeholders.
- Create high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters with the engineering team.
- Design and implement observability and reliability solutions for complex systems.
- Drive debugging and evolution of critical components by analyzing application and platform interdependencies.
- Mentor technologists and champion site reliability adoption, culture, and engineering practices.
- Lead reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across testing, validation, and production-readiness processes.
- Establish safe, resilient, secure, traceable, and auditable AI usage practices for operations.
- Contribute to site reliability communities of practice, internal forums, guilds, and conferences.
- Automate and deliver business process improvements.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Fluency in at least one programming language, such as Python or Java.
- Advanced understanding of site reliability principles and demonstrated implementation of SRE within an application or platform.
- Advanced experience with observability, including white-box and black-box monitoring, service level objectives, alerting, and telemetry collection.
- Experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to improve reliability workflows, with strong validation practices and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to establish safe AI usage practices while maintaining resiliency, security, and auditability.
- Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes in one or more technical disciplines.
- Ability to communicate data-based solutions using complex reporting and visualization methods.
- Recognized contribution to the engineering community and strong communication, mentoring, and education skills.
- Preferred familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
- Preferred familiarity with AWS or GCP cloud technologies, including deployment, management, and optimization of cloud applications.
- Financial or fintech industry experience is preferred.
