Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain infrastructure for compute-heavy, job-driven workloads across Kubernetes, cloud, and bare-metal environments.
- Own and evolve orchestration, deployment automation, observability, networking, and cloud architecture.
- Build autoscaling, redundancy, recovery, and graceful failure capabilities for variable and bursty workloads.
- Improve infrastructure security, monitoring, deployment, and incident-response practices.
- Use Terraform and other infrastructure-as-code tools to create maintainable and scalable infrastructure.
- Make and document technical decisions while balancing cost, performance, reliability, complexity, and maintainability.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical discussions, reviews, documentation, and infrastructure standards.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, SRE, platform engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including setup, maintenance, scaling, and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform or OpenTofu.
- Strong Python and Bash scripting skills, including at least 2 years of practical experience.
- At least 2 years of experience managing bare-metal machines in remote data centres.
- Solid understanding of network setup and management.
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider, particularly AWS or GCP.
- Ability to make and explain technical decisions, understand trade-offs, and take ownership of outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Ansible, Argo Workflows, or Argo Events is a bonus.
- Experience with compute-intensive or distributed workloads, reliability engineering, SLOs/SLIs, incident response, infrastructure cost optimization, mentoring, or technical standards is beneficial.
