Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers.
- Build distributed microservices and full-stack systems that address regulatory and business needs.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Use JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Mentor engineering team members and participate in technology communities.
- Experiment with emerging technologies and interactive AI tooling to improve productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 1 year of cloud computing experience required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree and 7+ years with TypeScript, JavaScript, or Java.
- Preferred qualifications include 3+ years with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, or another cloud service.
- Preferred qualifications include 4+ years with open source frameworks, 1+ year of people management experience, and 2+ years of Agile practices.

- Full-time annual salary ranges vary by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Richmond, VA and $197,300-$225,100 in McLean, VA.
