Responsibilities
- Design, implement, roll out, and own backend services and microservices in production.
- Build features on top of LLMs when they are appropriate for the problem.
- Improve service reliability and performance and reduce technical debt.
- Participate in design reviews and communicate technical trade-offs.
- Raise code quality through reviews, tests, shared libraries, and tooling.
- Use AI agents deliberately and securely in daily engineering workflows while verifying and owning generated code.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional backend experience building and running production services.
- Strong proficiency in at least one general-purpose language, such as Go, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Node.js.
- Working knowledge of Go is a strong plus.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features to production.
- Experience with at least two data systems, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Kafka, or Cassandra.
- Comfort with Docker, Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, or a competitive programming background in place of a degree.
- Open source contributions or involvement in technical communities.
- Sound software design skills, including service boundaries, data modeling, design patterns, and practical trade-off evaluation.
- Ability to securely evaluate, delegate, and review work produced by AI agents.
