Base Salary
$200k - $300k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build multi-agent consensus architectures in which specialized models debate cases before reaching conclusions.
- Develop RAG pipelines using clinical guidelines prepared for LLM consumption.
- Fine-tune and distill models for efficient performance and build real-time inference systems for millions of monthly consultations.
- Create custom workflows for medical reasoning, voice and video AI interfaces, multilingual medical NLP, and predictive health modeling.
- Develop HIPAA-compliant NLP pipelines that extract structured data from patient conversations.
- Build QHIN integrations for automated EHR data retrieval and reconciliation.
- Create intelligent triage systems, provider-specific documentation generation, emergency detection, and escalation to human oversight.
- Implement validation layers, distributed systems, and fail-safe mechanisms for accurate and safe decisions in regulated environments.
- Own features end-to-end from minimal specifications through production deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent demonstrated expertise; hard science degrees with a strong technical foundation are also welcomed.
- 7+ years of engineering experience with LLMs and generative AI.
- Deep knowledge of OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Meta LLaMA, and foundation models.
- Experience building production AI systems with real-time inference requirements.
- Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch, and modern AI frameworks.
- Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and model optimization for specialized domains.
- Preferred experience includes healthcare or life sciences AI, medical terminology, clinical workflows, HL7, FHIR, medical AI safety, bias detection, fairness, domain-specific NLP, regulated healthcare environments, and published AI/ML research.
- Advanced degree in computer science, AI/ML, or a related field is preferred.
- Preference for founders, founding engineers, extensive startup experience, and seed or Series A experience in AI or healthcare.
