Base Salary
$173k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify and lead solutions to project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Create and monitor operational metrics and support availability, keep-the-lights-on, and on-call efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for engineering quality through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience using languages such as Python or Kotlin.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems with technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components and produce elegant, extensible designs.
- Proficiency making significant changes safely in large codebases and developing supporting tools and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
