
Infrastructure Platform Engineering (SMTS, Software Engineering)
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Conduct technical discovery of assigned legacy infrastructure, documenting findings, gaps, and architecture decisions.
- Partner with cloud, networking, security, storage, operating system, database, and SRE teams to design and implement target infrastructure.
- Develop scalable AWS, private-cloud, and hybrid-cloud solutions for medium-complexity infrastructure problems.
- Create implementation plans, effort estimates, resource plans, and delivery milestones for assigned migration workstreams.
- Migrate and modernize legacy VM-based workloads while maintaining continuity for dependent services.
- Build reusable migration frameworks and infrastructure components for future acquisitions and cloud operations.
- Build, maintain, and deploy infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, operational automation, alerting, and auto-remediation systems.
- Apply security and networking standards, including identity, authentication, and legacy-system retirement requirements.
- Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and downtime reduction.
- Document architecture diagrams, runbooks, operational playbooks, and technical decisions.
Requirements
- 6–8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience in cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, KVM, equivalent hypervisor environments, and/or public cloud infrastructure.
- Experience migrating on-premises or legacy VM workloads to public or private cloud at scale using lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or re-architecting strategies.
- Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals including VPCs, VLANs, routing, firewall rules, DNS, and load balancing.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security, identity management, Okta or SSO integration, zero-trust networking, and secrets management.
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet and with infrastructure CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to conduct technical discovery in complex legacy environments and produce architecture documentation and effort decompositions.
- Experience with vulnerability management, CVE triage, patch cadence, scanning tools such as Qualys, Tenable, or Nessus, and remediation SLAs.
- Comfort coding with Python and an AWS SDK, and familiarity with Go or Java for performance-sensitive infrastructure tooling.
- Experience with hypervisor APIs, virtualization internals, networking automation, Linux administration, and Windows Server administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary technical teams.
- Preferred: SaaS or enterprise customer-environment experience, Salesforce infrastructure familiarity, M&A integration experience, storage or database infrastructure experience, Docker or Kubernetes, GitOps, AWS or VMware certifications, and SRE operational-excellence practices.
