Responsibilities

  • Lead moderately complex software engineering initiatives and deliverables.
  • Design, code, test, debug, document, upgrade, and deploy technology projects.
  • Lead projects, resolve technical challenges, and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
  • Maintain operational knowledge of business systems and monitor availability, functional health, and performance against SLOs and SLAs.
  • Triage alerts, respond to incidents, perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and handle business-system user requests.
  • Implement change requests, coordinate deployments, and support business continuity planning and implementation.
  • Design and improve logging, monitoring, alerting, analytics, and observability solutions.
  • Create scripting and tooling automation for routine or risky manual operations.
  • Lead post-incident reviews and identify reliability and supportability improvements.
  • Partner with architecture, infrastructure, and development teams and create reliability-focused work items for development backlogs.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of software engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • At least 4 years of application production support experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of cloud technology experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering concepts, system administration, scripting, automation, complex business logic, and dependencies.
  • At least 3 years of CI/CD automation and configuration experience and 3 years of ITSM process experience preferred.
  • Experience with technical documentation, monitoring and observability, system administration, networking, packet-capture analysis, and Internet technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more listed software languages, CI/CD tools, scheduling tools, monitoring tools, operating systems, cloud platforms, data technologies, and testing frameworks.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; an industry-standard technology certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work additional hours, participate in on-call rotations, and work flexibly in a 16/7 environment including weekends and holidays.
