Sr Software Engineer - Cloud Platform—Kubernetes Development

Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate Kubernetes platform components and core subsystems.
- Write and review Go code for controllers, operators, platform services, and automation.
- Own a defined platform area end to end, from design through production readiness.
- Investigate incidents, participate in on-call, and implement follow-up work to prevent recurring failures.
- Support how workloads run on the platform and collaborate with dependent teams.
- Make platform design decisions within regulated environments subject to compliance constraints including FedRAMP.
- Explore AI-powered tooling and automation for engineering and operational workflows.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building production software.
- Production experience building and shipping Kubernetes infrastructure or platform components.
- Experience running workloads on Kubernetes and debugging production issues.
- Strong programming skills in Go, or strong systems-language skills with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Experience with at least one major hyperscaler—AWS, Azure, or GCP—including compute, networking, and IAM primitives.
- Comfort with containers, CI/CD, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience or critical thinking regarding the integration of AI into engineering and operational work.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes controllers or operators and the operator pattern.
- Preferred exposure to container networking, service mesh, workload identity, or mTLS.
- Preferred experience with secrets management, certificate lifecycle, or related platform subsystems.
- Preferred experience with observability tooling, including metrics, tracing, and SLOs.
- Preferred experience with managed Kubernetes services, Terraform, or Crossplane.
