Responsibilities
- Develop security and privacy infrastructure for Verkada’s infrastructure, applications, and devices.
- Architect scalable distributed systems that manage increasing data volumes without compromising performance or security.
- Build projects involving end-to-end encryption and data encryption at rest and in use.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with engineering, product, security, and company leaders.
- Help define and implement security goals, priorities, processes, and broader privacy programs.
- Share security expertise through conferences, presentations, blogs, and open-source contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience as a software engineer or code-writing security engineer.
- Demonstrable coding skills and willingness to write code daily.
- Strong experience with AWS, GCP, or another cloud service provider.
- Interest in learning about security and privacy products, features, and strategies.
- Strong collaboration, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
