DevOps Engineer, Edge and Developer Experience (Remote Eligible in Bulgaria)

Responsibilities
- Maintain, upgrade, and extend the high-performance edge proxy platform.
- Write Go and Python automation and manage container images on hardened Linux bases.
- Implement Terraform and Terragrunt modules and environment configurations for EKS clusters, load balancers, IAM roles, and AWS services.
- Manage multi-region EKS deployments using GitOps workflows and Helm charts.
- Design, maintain, and improve shared GitLab CI/CD pipeline templates with DevSecOps guardrails.
- Automate container image patching, EKS AMI rotation, and operational patching cycles.
- Provision and maintain Datadog SLOs, monitors, and dashboards and participate in on-call incident response.
- Support internal developer experience initiatives and integrate developer platforms and tooling.
- Use AI-based workflows to improve project execution, infrastructure design, and debugging.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering.
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform for cloud infrastructure management.
- Experience operating Kubernetes and AWS services including EKS, VPC, IAM, and ECR.
- Proficiency in a general-purpose programming language, with Go or Python preferred.
- Experience designing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD.
- Familiarity with container image security practices and GitOps workflows.
- Willingness to participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English.
- Familiarity with AI-based workflows for authoring or maintaining code and infrastructure.
- Legal eligibility to work in Bulgaria on an ongoing basis.
- Understanding of reverse proxies, API gateways, or load balancers such as NGINX or HAProxy is preferred.
- Familiarity with FedRAMP or AWS GovCloud operational constraints is preferred.
- Experience managing Datadog resources through infrastructure as code is preferred.
- Experience integrating internal developer portals or feature flag management tools is preferred.
