Responsibilities

  • Extend, evolve, and maintain the Verse compiler toolchain, transactional memory runtime, and VM.
  • Implement new language features, add platform support, and integrate Verse with Unreal Engine content, build, and cooking pipelines.
  • Optimize performance, memory usage, and iteration times across the Verse toolchain, runtime, and Unreal Engine/Verse boundary.
  • Collaborate with language consumers and the broader Unreal Engine organization to deliver a strong developer experience.
  • Establish test workflows to validate improvements and prevent regressions.
  • Design and maintain the scripting interface to Unreal Engine.

Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of C++.
  • Experience with compiler or toolchain development, including compiler internals, VM design, Clang/LLVM, or linker and platform ABI specifics.
  • Experience developing and optimizing large codebases while balancing usability, performance, and power.
  • Strong ability to reason about large, interconnected systems.
  • Solid grounding in software programming principles, including API design.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, autonomy, and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine integration is a plus.
